Wild dash cam video of dump truck struck by car hitting house featured on ‘Road Wars’ TV series

Published:

A dump truck driver’s dash cam video that ended with his jarring crash into a house was recently featured on the A&E television series “Road Wars.”

“Road Wars” is a reality television series that takes a “deep dive into American roadways, examining extreme human behavior, wild weather, insane accidents and a few welcome instances of acts of kindness.”

The show’s social media account recently shared a segment delving into a February 2016 crash that occurred in rural North Carolina, ahead of the clip appearing on the December 14, 2022 episode.

Dump truck driver Tony Spainhour says that he was traveling with his two small dogs when his vehicle was struck in the right rear wheels by a car that ran a stop sign. Spainhour lost control of the dump truck and careened off of the road into a house.

“This video shows how fast an accident can happen without you having time to react. Most people want to place the blame on large trucks when an accident occurs but in most cases they are the result of the actions of other drivers. I only survived this collision by lying across the seats at the time of impact,” Spainhour said shortly after the crash.

Spainhour and his dogs survived without serious injury. The house was not occupied when the crash occurred.

The car driver was issued multiple charges.
