Wreck with abandoned car rips rear wheels from semi

No one was injured after a semi truck struck an abandoned car in Kentucky on Wednesday. 

The accident happened on February 8th in Henderson, Kentucky. 

According to TriState Homepage, a semi truck was heading south on Interstate 69 between Highway 41 and Weinbach Avenue when it struck an abandoned car on the side of the road. The force of the impact caused the car to catch fire and ripped the rear wheels from the tractor trailer. 

No serious injuries were sustained in the incident, but South bound I-69 between US Highway 41 and Weinbach Avenue was closed for several hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage and put out the fire. 

The roadway has since been reopened.
