Semi truck wreck kills 20 cows in an incident involving a sharply curved highway exit in Connecticut early on Thursday.
The accident happened at around 3:30 a.m. in Newtown on westbound I-84 at exit 10.
According to Patch Connecticut, police and firefighters responded to the scene to find an overturned livestock hauler laying on its driver side. The trucker was not hurt, but 14 cows were killed in the crash. A veterinarian was called, and six more cows were put down due to their injuries
The remaining 30 cows were loaded onto another trailer and taken to a veterinarian for evaluation. The livestock were being transported from Maine to Ohio.
