91-year-old motorist dies driving wrong way into semi truck

A wrong way elderly motorist died driving into a semi truck on Interstate 80 east in Ohio early on Friday. 

The accident happened on October 20th in Hubbard Township, Ohio on Interstate 80 at around 1:30 a.m. 

According to WKBN, 91-year-old motorist Gary Wagner was traveling the wrong way on eastbound I-80 when it collided head on with an oncoming semi truck. The force of the collision sent both vehicles skidding into the median, where the tractor trailer jackknifed.

Wagner was pronounced dead at the scene and the 72-year-old trucker was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. 

The crash is still under investigation, but impairment is not believed to be a factor.
