Apparent murder-suicide responsible for trucking couple found shot in head after truck crash

Police are investigating the deaths of two truck drivers after they were both found shot in the head in their wrecked truck. 

The two were found on January 11th at around 1:30 p.m. on Interstate 57 at milepost 303 in Kankakee County, Illinois. 

According to 5 News, troopers responded to a single semi truck crash to find 40-year-old Michael J. Hendrickson dead in the passenger seat of the truck with a gunshot wound. 34-year-old Tiffany Hendrickson was found in the driver’s seat of the truck, also with a gunshot wound, and was transported to a nearby hospital. She later died of her injuries. 

Preliminary findings from an autopsy done on January 12th show that Michael Hendrickson died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and Tiffany Hendrickson died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident is still under investigation.
