Witnesses say a tire blowout led to death of truck driver in a single rig wreck in North Carolina on Monday afternoon.
The accident happened in Robeson County, North Carolina on Interstate 74 on December 18th.
According to ABC 15 News, the semi truck was on I-74 at Dew Road when witnesses say a tire on his truck experienced a blow out, causing the truck driver to lose control. The truck veered off of the right side of the road, hit multiple small trees, plowed through a wire fence, and came to a stop in a field.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is conducting an inspection of the truck tires to determine if a blowout was the true cause of the fatal wreck.
The identity of the truck driver has not been released.
