Arizona DOT plans to add nearly 850 truck parking spaces at 10 locations statewide

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) has proposed a statewide truck parking plan that will add nearly 850 truck parking spaces at 10 locations throughout the state.

On December 4, ADOT unveiled a plan to dramatically increase truck parking availability along busy interstates.

The plan calls for ADOT to add 846 truck parking spaces along I-10, I-40, and I-8.

The plan would add truck parking to existing rest areas and also add three new facilities providing parking for commercial vehicles only.

ADOT is looking to add parking in the three “critical” locations below through $32 million in federal funding.

Later, after these three projects are completed, ADOT could add parking at the following locations pending funding.

These truck parking projects would be completed in addition to  $18 million in current projects already underway.

ADOT is currently accepting public comments on the truck parking plan. If you’d like to add a comment online, please click here.
