At least 21 vehicles were involved in multiple crashes that left one woman dead in North Dakota on Monday.

The accidents happened on February 20th south of Grand Forks, North Dakota along Interstate 29 and Highway 81 during dangerous winter weather.

According to Grand Forks Herald, the crash on Highway 81 claimed the life of one woman when the sedan she was a passenger in crossed the center line and struck an oncoming Kenworth. The collision sent both vehicles into a nearby ditch, minorly injuring the driver of the car, and killing the passenger, a 26-year-old woman. The truck driver and his passenger were not hurt in the incident. The incident occurred during blowing snow conditions.

Poor visibility also caused multiple crashes on Interstate 29 involving at least three tractor trailers. The accidents closed the northbound lanes of the interstate as crews worked to remove the wrecked vehicles. No injuries were reported in those crashes.
