Big rig’s crash off overpass leave driver with serious head injury

A truck driver is seriously injured after driving off of an elevated highway in Delaware on Wednesday morning.

The accident happened on May 10th in Edgemoor, Delaware just before 8 a.m.

According to ABC 6, the truck drove off of Interstate 495 south and plowed down an embankment before coming to a stop on Governor Printz Boulevard.

The unnamed truck driver was treated for a head injury on scene and was flown to a nearby hospital by helicopter, reported CBS

The crash reportedly tore down some utility poles and led to a fuel spill, prompting a HAZMAT response. Several cars were also struck by debris during the incident.
