Box truck reportedly strikes drive-thru awning, causes it to collapse on car

On Thursday afternoon, first responders in Omaha, Nebraska, rescued a motorist who was trapped after a partial building collapse allegedly caused by a box truck.

The incident occurred at a Scooter’s Coffee drive-thru near 30th and Ames in Omaha.

According to WOWT, a box truck driving in the parking lot of the Scooter’s got caught on the awning and caused the awning to collapse on top of a car that was in the drive-thru lane.

The Omaha Fire Department responded to the scene to rescue the car driver, who did not appear to have suffered serious injuries.

Omaha Police are asking drivers to avoid the area.
