PRESS RELEASE New Ulm, Minnesota October 5, 2023 – J&R Schugel Trucking, Inc., a nationally recognized truckload carrier, is proud to announce the launch of its new breast cancer wrapped semi-truck. The truck, which will be traveling across the lower 48 states, aims to raise awareness about breast cancer and support breast cancer survivors.
The semi-truck features a bold, eye-catching design that displays the pink ribbon, the symbol of breast cancer awareness. J&R Schugel has partnered with a local non-profit organization, B The Light, founded by Amber Melby, breast cancer survivor. Their mission is to offer connection, support and HOPE to local breast cancer survivors andt heir families.
“Our first wrapped truck was Breast Cancer in 2017. Since then, we have wrapped trucks for Autism and Mental Health Awareness,” said Courtney Antonsen, Director of Human Resources for J&R Schugel. “What makes this one different is the collaboration with a local organization to support our mission. Breast cancer has had an impact on so many lives and we are honored to raise awareness by wrapping a truck and having it travel across the nation.”
J&R Schugel plans to assign the unit to one of their professional truck drivers in the near future. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. Women are encouraged to have regular mammogram screenings beginning at age 40. “We hope our initiative brings attention to this important cause and has an impact on those in the fight against breast cancer, survivors of breast cancer and those who have lost loved ones to breast cancer,” said Antonsen.
