Broke down trucker robbed by motorist who also attempted to steal semi truck 

One person is in custody after broke down trucker robbed by motorist on the side of a highway in Virginia on Wednesday. 

The incident occurred on October 11th in Rockingham, Virginia along Interstate 81. 

According to ABC 8, motorist Jacob Falso was heading south on I-81 when he pulled onto the shoulder and stopped in front of a tractor trailer broken down on the side of the road. Falso then ran up to the cab of the rig and broke the driver side window and robbed the trucker while armed with a knife. Falso then attempted to steal the semi truck but was unsuccessful. 

When police arrived on the scene, they found Falso on the side of the highway still holding a knife. Falso refused to comply with the officer’s instructions and ran back to his car and continued south on I-81. 

Falso refused to stop for officers and police pursued him on I-8. During the pursuit he collided with a FedEx truck and rammed two police vehicles. Falso eventually lost control at mile marker 204 and crashed, where he was taken into custody without further incident. 

No one was injured in the collisions involved in the pursuit. Falso was taken for a medical evaluation before being held in the Middle River Regional Jail. He is facing multiple charges in both Shenandoah and Augusta counties.
