The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that a truck driver will be okay following a crash off I-80 over the weekend.

The crash occurred shortly after 9 a.m. on Saturday, July 29 near Farad, California, near the Nevada border.

A truck reportedly crashed off I-80 and down an embankment, coming to a stop just a few feet away from a set of railroad tracks.

According to CHP – Truckee, the truck driver survived with only minor injuries.

“Could have been worse.. good thing the big rig didn’t land on the railroad tracks,” CHP said in a social media post.

Police did not provide information on what led to the crash.
