Construction worker thrown from lift by semi truck

A construction worker is dead after being thrown from a boom lift in Arizona on Thursday morning. 

The accident occurred on May 18th at around 1:30 a.m. in Guadalupe, Arizona on westbound I-10 at Guadalupe Road. 

According to a statement from the Arizona Department of Public Safety “in the area of the collision the #1 and #2 lanes were closed for construction. A construction boom lift came out of the closure and crossed the #3 and #4 lanes trying to get to the right shoulder,” DPS spokesman Bart Graves said. “A semi-truck struck the operator cage of the boom lift and threw the operator from the cage.”

The construction worker died at the hospital Fox 10 reported. His identity has not been released. No other injuries were reported. The truck’s trailer was also damaged in the incident.
