Dash cam video shows that a collision with a Jeep led to a crash and a large fire in Manchester, Connecticut, on Sunday night.
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. on September 3 on I-84 in Manchester.
According to Connecticut State Police (CSP),a Jeep Grand Cherokee was eastbound on I-84 when the driver changed from the right lane into the eastbound tanker truck’s established lane of travel. The truck struck the Jeep, causing both vehicles to roll over.
The tanker went up in flames following the collision.
The tanker was “fully loaded with 8,300 gallons of gasoline,” according to the Manchester Fire Department.
The tanker driver, a 26 year old Massachusetts resident, and the driver and passenger in the Jeep suffered only minor injuries.
Troopers say that the Jeep driver was cited for Operating a Motor Vehicle under Suspension and Failure to Maintain Proper Lane.
