Distracted bus driver fatally ejected in rear-end with semi

A bus driver is dead after rear-ending a semi truck in Wyoming last week.

The accident happened on Wednesday, May 17th east of Arlington, Wyoming on Interstate 80.

According to KGAB, a semi truck was heading east at 45 mph in the right lane of I-80 at milepost 273.6 with its hazard lights on. A commercial bus then came up behind the truck and rear-ended it, ejecting the 75-year-old bus driver, John Brown.

Brown was thrown through the windshield of the bus and died of his injuries. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck. The trucker and their passenger were not hurt in the incident.

Investigators say that cell phone use and inattention likely contributed to the crash.
