Driver cited after crashing into “road closed” gate

A truck driver was cited after crashing into a “road closed” gate in North Dakota during a recent closure. 

The incident happened on Thursday, February 23rd in Bismarck, North Dakota at around 9:30 a.m. 

According to KFGO News, Interstate 94 from Bismarck to Fargo had been shut all night, causing a line of vehicles to park on the shoulder waiting for it to reopen. A 44-year-old trucker then approached the closure at exit 161 and was unable to stop. The truck then crashed into the road closure gate. 

The entire gate was damaged as a result of the wreck. The semi truck sustained minor damage. 

The unnamed driver was cited for driving faster than conditions allowed to maintain control of his vehicle.
