The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has placed another Electronic Logging Device (ELD) on the agency’s list of Revoked Devices.
The FMCSA announced on March 27 that the All-Ways Track ELD has been added to the Revoked Devices list “due to the company’s failure to meet the minimum requirements.”
Carriers using the All-Ways Track ELD are asked to take the following actions:
- Discontinue using the revoked ELD(s) and revert to paper logs or logging software to record required hours of service data.
- Replace the revoked ELD(s) with compliant ELD(s) from the Registered Devices list before May 26, 2023.
Carriers have a 60 day grace period to replace the Revoked ELD. During that time, law enforcement is encouraged not to cite drivers for “Failure to use a registered ELD” and should request the driver’s paper logs, logging software, or use the All-Ways Track ELD display as a back-up method to review the hours of service data.
Should the All-Ways Track ELD manufacturers correct identified deficiencies, the FMCSA will reinstate the ELD on its list of approved devices.
Beginning May 26, 2023, motor carriers who continue to use the All-Ways Track ELD would be considered to be operating without an ELD, according to the FMCSA. Officials say that law enforcement officers who encounter a driver using a revoked ELD on or after May 26, 2023 should cite the driver and place the driver out-of-service (OOS).
“FMCSA strongly encourages motor carriers to take the actions listed above now to avoid compliance issues in the event that the deficiencies are not addressed in time,” the agency said.
So far this year, the FMCSA has placed several other ELDs on the Revoked list, including the ONE PLUS ELD, ELD ONE, and Nationwide ELD.
