A dump truck fell into a sinkhole on a California roadway on Monday morning after ignoring a street closure sign.
The incident happened on January 23rd in Contra Costa County, California at around 8:30 a.m. near Carneal Road.
According to KTVU News, the dump truck crashed into the sinkhole and got stuck after driving through signs warning that the street had already been closed due to damage. When officials arrived, a barricade from the road closure was found beneath the truck.
The driver was not hurt in the incident. It is not clear if they will be cited.
Officials say that calls reporting “flooding, mudslides, sinkholes, and other issues related to the recent storms” sparked the closure from Carneal Road to the Alameda County line on January 22nd.
