FedEx semi truck driver knocked out by thrown rock while driving through Indiana

The Decatur County Sheriff Department (DCSD) is investigating a rock throwing incident that put a semi truck driver in the hospital over the weekend.

Police say that the incident took place shortly before 3 a.m. on Sunday, April 23, near Greensburg, Indiana.

DCSD responded to westbound I-74 at mile marker 127 and found a FedEx semi truck in the median of the roadway.

When deputies made contact with the truck driver, he was semi-conscious with “significant injuries to his head.”

Officers also noticed damage to the semi’s windshield.

The semi truck driver was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Police say that the truck driver’s child was on the truck but wasn’t hurt.

Following an investigation, DCSD determined that a rock was thrown through the truck’s windshield, striking the driver and causing him to lose consciousness.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department at (812) 663-8125.
