A woman is dead after a forgotten tool flew off of a flatbed trailer and through the windshield of a car in Georgia on Tuesday.
The accident happened on May 16th in Whitfield County, Georgia.
According to ABC 7, the tool, identified as a winch bar, fell off the semi truck along Interstate 75. A portion of the roadway was shut down for an hour as medics provided treatment to the victim. The victim, Lynn Fleming, did not survive.
This situation is very tragic and could have been so simply avoided,” said Scotty Smith with the Georgia State Patrol.
The truck driver was not hurt in the incident. It is unclear if any citations were issued.
