Garbage truck driver killed when tractor trailer full of trash falls onto cab

A garbage truck driver killed in an accident involving a tractor trailer full of trash has not been publicly identified after the Thursday afternoon incident. 

The incident occurred at the Riverview Land Preserve at 20863 Grange Road, near King between Allen Road and Fort Street in Riverview, Michigan. 

According to Fox 2 Detroit, officials have not yet released details surrounding the fatal incident. 

“A tragic accident occurred today at the Riverview Land Preserve involving a truck driver who was killed in his vehicle,” the City of Riverview said in a statement. “The circumstances are presently under investigation and we are not prepared to make any statements at this time.  

“We do, however, extend our prayers and deepest sympathies to the family of the truck driver.”
