I-64 in WV closed for semi truck fire

Published:

An interstate in West Virginia has been closed due to a tractor trailer fire on Friday afternoon.

The incident began at around 1 p.m. on Friday, February 10th on Interstate 64 in Barboursville, West Virginia.

According to Fox 11 News, the tractor trailer caught fire in the westbound lanes of I-64 near the Huntington Mall exit. The fire forced the closure of the interstate in both directions.

It is unclear if the tractor trailer caught fire due to a crash, or if the fire started on its own. No injuries have been reported.

A message from Cabell County Schools was sent out at 1:30 p.m. CST warning parents about expected bus delays due to the closure.

No further information has been released.
