Iowa DOT reports major trailer collapse along I-35

Published:

Iowa DOT Motor Vehicle Enforcement (MVE) shared photos of a wild trailer failure that occurred on Wednesday.

Officials said that the incident occurred on I-35 at mile marker 43.

Iowa DOT MVE shared photos of a twisted trailer loaded with seed corn that is parked on the shoulder of the interstate along with a “hump day” message:

“Happy hump day!

For those who work a regular Monday thru Friday, we hope you are hanging in there better than this poor trailer. Be aware you may come across this if you are traveling I-35 around the 43 mile marker!

Be safe and enjoy the warm weather!”

Many Facebook users popped into the comment section to weigh in on the trailer kerfuffle.

Oof…somebody didn’t scale…Those tandems look like they’re all the way back,” said one person.

I’m impressed. He got it to the shoulder though,” another pointed out.

How big will that ticket be?” a commenter asked.
