ISP: Driver had “no explanation” for why his trailer was “in pieces”

The Iowa State Patrol placed a significantly damaged tractor trailer out of service early on Sunday morning.

The truck driver was stopped near Altoona on February 5th and told troopers he was traveling from Omaha to Chicago to pick up a load. He “thought he could travel in darkness to avoid being stopped,” the officers wrote in a post.

“No logs and no explanation as to why his trailer was nearly in pieces,” the post continued.

The truck was placed out of service.
