Major damage reported following tornado at Ohio truck stop

Several trucks sustained significant damage at a TA truck stop following a tornado that touched down early Saturday in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

The National Weather Service confirmed a tornado touch down near Wapakoneta early on April 1, initially touching down around 12:54 a.m., traveling about 17 miles, and ending around 1:07 a.m.

The tornado caused major damage at the TA at I-75 & U.S. 33 at Exit 111.

Local outlet WHIO reports significant damage at the truck stop and said that a few big rigs were blown over. No major injuries have been reported.

The truck stop, billed as the “first interstate truck stop in the United States,” is reportedly closed. CDLLife has reached out to TA for more information on the status of the store and will update this article with any news.
