Man flips family car before running into path of oncoming semi truck

An incident is being investigated as an attempted suicide after a man flipped his car and ran in front of an oncoming semi truck in Florida on Monday. 

The incident happened on May 29th in Palm Beach County at around 9:14 a.m. 

According to the Belle Glade Sun, a man, his wife, and two daughters were in a car heading southbound on the Florida Turnpike when the man reportedly grabbed the steering wheel from his wife and jerked it to the right. The car then swerved off the roadway and onto a grassy shoulder, where it overturned. 

The man then exited the vehicle and ran into the southbound lanes, right in front of an oncoming semi truck. 

The man’s wife and two daughters – 14 and 23 – sustained only minor injuries in the crash. The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The trucker was not hurt in the incident.

The incident is still under investigation and is being treated as an attempted suicide.
