A man is dead after choosing to lay down on an interstate following a wreck in Alabama early on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred on Interstate 20 four miles west of Heflin at about 4:20 a.m.
According to Alabama News, 28-year-old Gutierrez J. Enain was a passenger in a previous wreck. Following that incident, he exited the wrecked vehicle and “subsequently laid down in the roadway.”
Enain was then struck by a 2023 Freightliner driven by 32-year-old Jonathan Kelley and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
