Motorist caused pile-up of three semi trucks by stopping in middle of traffic to use emergency-only turnaround

Motorist stopping traffic caused three semi truck pileup that is creating backups on I-20 in Mississippi this afternoon. 

The accident happened on Monday, October 16th on Interstate 20 east near Pelahatchie, Mississippi at around 2:45 p.m.

According to Darkhorse Press, the incident started when a four wheeler stopped in the middle of I-20 in an attempt to cross over into the emergency-vehicle-only turn lane. The sudden stop caused three tractor trailers to smack into each other.

No one was seriously hurt, but one person was transported to a hospital for a possible neck injury. None of the vehicles involved were seriously damaged. 

No further information has been released, but those looking to travel through the area were advised to find another route, or be prepared to wait in traffic. At least one lane of the highway is shut down for cleanup as of 3 p.m.
