Motorist’s armed road rage turns deadly when “semi truck literally smacked his car”

One motorist is dead after an armed confrontation with another four wheeler sent him spinning in front of an oncoming semi truck. 

The road rage incident occurred in Anderson Township, Ohio at around 10 a.m. on May 9 on Interstate 275.

WLWT News reports that motorist Trentyn Montgomery was traveling along eastbound I-275 when a man in another car cut him off suddenly. The other motorist then pointed a gun at Montgomery as the two continued to drive. 

Eventually, the armed motorist tried to cut Montgomery off again, but clipped the front of his car. The force of the impact sent the armed motorist spinning out into oncoming traffic, where they were struck by an oncoming semi truck on the westbound side of I-275 between Kellogg Avenue and Five Mile.The car then burst into flames. 

“Oh, my God. He literally – like a semi-truck literally smacked his car, ma’am,” Montgomery told a 911 dispatcher.

“And you said he was chasing you with a gun before he crashed?” th dispatcher asked during the call. 

“Yeah,” Montgomery said. “And then he tried to cut me off and ended up hitting the front of my car and then he spun out. … And then went into oncoming traffic.”

“The car was in flames… It was bad,” he continued.

The truck driver was hauling a crane at the time of the incident and was not injured in the crash, but the armed motorist died in the fiery wreck. His identity has not been released pending notification of kin. 

Montgomery claims he does not know what sparked the road rage incident. No further information has been released.
