Two people are dead after colliding with a semi truck during an attempted pass in heavy rain.
The accident happened on Friday, September 8th in Indiantown, Florida on Warfield Boulevard north of Tommy Clements Street just after 5 p.m.
According to CBS 12 News, a motorist in a sedan was attempting to pass other vehicles on Warfield Boulevard during a heavy rain storm. During the pass attempt, the car collided with an oncoming semi truck, killing two occupants inside of the car.
The driver of the semi truck was trapped inside of his rig following the wreck. The extent of his injuries is not clear.
Warfield Boulevard was shut down for several hours and drivers were rerouted 10 miles from the crash site as crews worked to investigate the incident and clear the wreckage.
No further information has been released. The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating.
