Nebraska fuel shortage prompts extended hours for truckers under Executive Order

Published:

Truck drivers hauling fuel through Nebraska will be allowed extended hours though the summer in response to a fuel shortage.

Nebraska Governor Jim Pillen issued Executive Order 23-10 to provide emergency relief as fuel shortages affect the region. The order will allow truck drivers hauling gasoline, gasoline blends, diesel, fuel oil, ethanol, propane, or biodiesel to work extended hours.

Any drivers operating under the proclamation are required to carry a copy of the Executive Order with them, reported KSNB Local 4.

The order is expected to help reduce delays at petroleum terminals and late fuel deliveries to consumers. The order is effective as of June 6th and will remain in effect until September 4th at 11:59 p.m.
