New York troopers seek white Volvo involved in fatal pedestrian hit and run

Published:

New York State Police (NYSP) are asking for help locating a newer white Volvo involved in a fatal pedestrian hit and run crash last weekend.

NYSP says that a fatal pedestrian strike occurred sometime between 9:30 p.m. on November 17 and 5 a.m. on November 18 in the village of Bath.

Police say that a 2019 or newer white Volvo VNL struck 40 year old John W. Viviano on westbound I-86 near Exit 38.

Viviano was discovered dead at the scene.

Troopers say that the Volvo driver did not stop after striking Viviano.

The truck will have major damage to the front passenger side. “The fog light and assembly, fender mirror, part of the front hood radiator grill, along with other vehicle parts were located at the scene,” NYSP said.

If you have information, you’re asked to call New York State Police at (585) 398-4100.
