Officials work to reopen I-70 on Thursday morning following 9 semi truck pileup

The Colorado State Patrol (CSP) says that crews are still working to clear I-70 in the Strasburg area on Thursday morning following a Wednesday winter weather pileup.

CSP said that approximately 9 semi trucks and 12 passenger vehicles were involved in a crash on I-70 at mile marker 313 between East Airpark Road and the Kansas state line on Wednesday afternoon amid winter weather conditions.

No injuries were reported.

Both directions of I-70 were closed overnight due to the crash.

As of 9 a.m. on Thursday, crews are still working to clear crashed vehicles, but the interstate is expected to reopen soon.

From CSP:

Efforts to clear the crash on I 70 MP 313 are still going on this morning. West bound I 70 is in the process of opening now. Eastbound I 70 will be open shortly from deer trail to Kansas. Eastbound will remain closed from air park Road to deer trail until the crash is cleared.
