A semi truck was caught on dash cam losing control on an icy bridge in an incident that Oklahoma Highway Patrol says “could have been so much worse!”
The incident was caught on a trooper’s dash cam as the officer was sitting on Interstate 40 east of Vian in Sequoyah County on Tuesday morning, January 31st.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the truck driver was ticketed for traveling at a speed not reasonable and proper for the road conditions at the time after skidding on an icy bridge and crashing into the roadside cable barrier. The officer says that the barrier prevented the accident from becoming tragic.
“The cable barrier did its job and probably saved some lives today,” OHP said in a Facebook post. “The posted speed limit is the limit for ideal conditions, not slick and hazardous.”
The truck driver “luckily was not injured.”
