Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser flattened like a pancake when hit by big rig that also struck fire truck

Published:

Police in Oklahoma are asking drivers to slow down and move over after a major Friday afternoon crash involving a semi truck, a trooper’s cruiser, and a fire truck.

The crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on March 31 near Catoosa.

According to the Catoosa Police Department (CPD), the crash happened as first responders were on the scene of a previous rollover crash at Highway 412 and the Creek Turnpike.

CPD says that a semi truck struck both a Catoosa Fire truck and an Oklahoma Highway Patrol cruiser, leaving the cruiser completely flattened.

“Thank God our public safety workers were able to scramble to safety and were not physically injured. A special thank you to God that our State Trooper wasn’t sitting in that patrol unit,” CPD said.

“Ladies and gentlemen this is why we asked that you move over and slow down,” CPD concluded.

The crash remains under investigation.
