One dead in grain elevator collapse in Texas

A pair of grain elevators collapsed in Texas on Tuesday, leaving one person dead and others injured.

The incident occurred on the evening of July 4 in Tynan, Texas.

According to the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, two grain silos collapsed and and trapped three workers.

KIIITV reports that two semi trucks and one other vehicle were struck by the collapsed silos.

Two of the workers were rescued Tuesday evening. One was transported to the hospital via ambulance. The other was airlifted to a hospital.

Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, first responders recovered a third worker who had been buried in the accident. The worker did not survive.
