Mississippi-headquartered flatbed carrier EverGreen Industries Inc. has found remarkable success by maintaining a small, family-run business mentality even as the company has grown over the decades.

How EverGreen Has Grown During Three Decades In Operation

For over three decades, EverGreen Industries, Inc. has been in the business of providing reliable trucking services to clients throughout the U.S. While the company has grown, the company philosophy hasn’t — decades later, company leaders are still hands-on with the business and still committed to helping their professional driving team to thrive.

EverGreen was founded by John McCabe with just two trucks and seven trailers, and over the years that followed, the company has grown to a fleet of nearly 100 trucks. John’s son Patrick McCabe joined the family business in 1998 and helped steer EverGreen towards the flatbed business, steadily growing the customer base and the company’s fleet of trucks and trailers. EverGreen remains operated by Patrick McCabe to this day, helping to maintain a family-like atmosphere and smaller company feel that drivers appreciate.

Open Door Policy Is Key to Company Success

The EverGreen team is laser-focused on providing drivers with whatever they need to maximize their safety, efficiency, and overall job satisfaction. The company has achieved sustainable success by empowering employees and prioritizing honesty and respect for the drivers who make it all happen. Knowledgeable support staff are on hand to provide drivers with fast solutions. All employees operate under the clear understanding that the only way for EverGreen to succeed is for its drivers to succeed.

One of the major reasons that drivers feel like part of the family is that they have access to company leadership, making it easier to work through any problems and helping them to feel like valued members of the EverGreen team. New drivers get to shake McCabe’s hand when they start working for EverGreen and then continue to see McCabe at the company facility on a daily basis.

“We’re really big on clear communication and having an open door policy,” explained Stephen Lusk, Director of Driver Hiring for EverGreen. “When drivers come to EverGreen, they meet the owner of the firm and even have his phone number when they leave.”

Family Links Two Second Generation Drivers To EverGreen

The close bonds of family have been a major driving force behind EverGreen’s company philosophy. A recent interaction between two younger EverGreen drivers shows just how deep these families ties go as both discovered while getting their trucks serviced that they had something in common — they are second generation drivers following in the footsteps of fathers who drove for the company.
