Oregon police respond to man on fire at truck stop

Police and firefighters in Ontario, Oregon, responded to a reported man on fire at near a truck stop location on Thursday.

The Ontario City Police Department (OCPD) responded to a call at the Love’s Travel Center in Ontario around 4:15 p.m. on November 2.

Callers reported a man on fire at the truck stop location.

When first responders arrived, they found a 61 year old Idaho resident on the scene suffering from severe burns. The man was later identified as Joseph Pesola.

“A large fire originating from a commercial motor vehicle was located in a vacant lot, directly east of Love’s Travel Center. The location is utilized as a mobile station for the transfer of liquid natural gas,” OCPD said.

No other injuries were reported.

The area was evacuated.

The incident is under investigation by the Ontario Fire Department.
