People stole packages from rolled over FedEx truck, Washington troopers say

Published:

The Washington State Patrol (WSP) is investigating the theft of packages from the scene of a semi truck rollover crash on Friday.

The crash occurred around 9:45 p.m. on June 30 on southbound I-5 near Northgate in King County, Washington.

Troopers determined that a two car crash had occurred previously on southbound I-5. A FedEx truck driver attempting to avoid hitting the crashed cars lost control, striking a highway barrier and rolling over.

The truck driver suffered only minor injuries.

WSP says that following the crash, individuals stopped and stole packages that fell out of the trailer during the crash. The acts of theft were caught on video.

“The Washington State Patrol is taking this crime of opportunity very seriously and is in the process of idenifying suspects that took part in the theft of this merchandise. The WSP is seeking any videos and information on the individuals that were involved in stealing these packages. Please email Trooper Johnson at [email protected],” WSP said in a news release.
