POLICE: Fatal, fiery wreck started with trucker’s attempt to avoid flying debris

A truck driver is dead after a wreck caused by debris from another vehicle on a highway in Kansas City on Thursday morning. 

The accident happened on July 27th in Kansas City, Missouri on Interstate 435 just before I-470 near Blue River Road at around 8:45 a.m.

According to KMBC News, the truck driver attempted to avoid debris flying out of another vehicle in the moments leading up to the wreck, which caused the truck to catch fire. The truck driver died in the crash. 

The crash closed five lanes of I-435 for five hours. No further information has been released.
