POLICE: “Possible suicide” blamed for man’s fatal walk into path of semi truck

Police are calling a fatal accident a “possible suicide” after a man walked in front of moving semi truck in Virginia on Wednesday morning. 

The accident happened on December 6th in Prince William County, Virginia just after 9 a.m. on Interstate 95 near the Prince William Parkway. 

According to WTOP News, 69-year-old Lloyd Felder pulled his black SUV onto the shoulder of I-95 at mile marker 158 and exited his vehicle. Felder then stepped into the northbound lane of traffic, where he was struck by an oncoming semi truck. 

“The tractor-trailer was unable to avoid striking Felder, who died at the scene,” police said of the incident. 

The roadway was closed for investigation until 1 p.m., but delays in the area continued into the late afternoon. 

Police say the incident is being investigated as a “possible suicide,” but have not released any further details.
