POLICE: Tractor trailer noise possible factor in fatal incident with loader

Published:

A man is dead after being run over by a loader working on a tractor trailer at a saw mill in Wisconsin earlier this week.

The accident happened on Tuesday, December 5th at 3:37 p.m. at the Crass Sawmill at W3638 State Highway 64 in Browning, Wisconsin.

According to WEAU News, 43-year-old Mark Frishman was speaking with another person in a driveway at the sawmill property near a loader unloading a semi truck. After the conversation, the other person walked about six feet away from Frishman before turning around to find him on the ground after the loader backed over him.

911 was called and first responders arrived to find Frishman not conscious or breathing, which had already been reported in the 911 call.

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says that the loader was not equipped with a backup camera or back up alarms, and the operator was not aware that Frishman was standing in the path of the loader. Investigators believe that the sound of the semi trucks idling, along with noise from other equipment, may have made it difficult for Frishman to hear the loader coming towards him.

The incident is still under investigation.
