POLICE: Truck driver knew his actions killed fellow driver following hit-and-run wreck

A truck driver has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a wreck that took the life of another truck driver.

Johan Heinrichs was arrested for the April 26th wreck on May 23rd in Dalhart, Texas.

According to ABC 8, Heinrichs was driving along Highway 385 near Tulsa, Oklahoma when he sideswiped another rig driven by Michael McCauley.

The force of the impact damaged one of McCauley’s steer tires, causing his truck to flip and roll off of the roadway. McCauley died in the wreck and Heinrichs fled the scene.

Heinrichs has since admitted to sideswiping McCauley’s truck and to knowing that the incident killed him. He is now in jail on charges of first-degree murder manslaughter, leaving the scene of a collision involving death, and destroying evidence
