POLICE: Truck driver wanted for ‘hit-and-run’ after leaving scene of car that crashed into back of rig

Los Angeles police are looking for the driver of a semi truck involved in a fatal wreck with a car over the weekend. 

The accident happened  on the early morning of June 3rd near Los Angeles, California on Lankershim Boulevard near Cayuga Avenue in Sun Valley. 

According to CBS News, a 26-year-old woman was driving a sedan north on Lankershim when she crashed into the back of the semi truck, causing the car to overturn. 

The motorist was pronounced dead shortly after first responders arrived at the scene. Police say that the truck driver fled the scene after the wreck, and are now treating the investigation as a hit-and-run. The tractor trailer was last seen traveling north on Lankershim. 

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the wreck to contact Valley Traffic Division Detectives, Officer Hansen at (818) 644-8255 or Officer Freeman at (818) 644-8115.
