POLICE: “Very lucky” motorist rescued after roof sheared off in crash with flatbed

Police are calling a motorist “very lucky” after they survived a wreck with a flatbed that removed the roof of their car. 

The accident happened at around 8 a.m. in Hollywood, Florida in the area of N. 29th Avenue and Greene Street.

According to NBC 6 Miami, the collision involved a flatbed semi truck and a sedan. Footage shows firefighters working to pull the motorist out of the wrecked sedan, which can be seen partially beneath the trailer. 

The motorist was then taken to a nearby hospital as a trauma patient. The extent of their injuries is not clear. 

“The driver is very lucky, fortunately there was [sic.] no fatalities here,” Hollywood Police spokesperson Christian Lata said.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
