Protesters use semi trucks to shut down California interchange

Protesters caused major traffic backups in Glendale, California, on Wednesday night when they used vehicles including semi trucks to block traffic.

The highway protest happened at the SR-134, I-5 interchange as hundreds of people took to the streets and used vehicles to block lanes of traffic as part of a demonstration called “Rally for Life.”

The protesters were part of an Armenian-American group who are displeased with Congressman Adam Schiff for not doing more to stop Azerbaijan blockades within Armenia.

According to KCAL, the protest initially began at Burbank City Hall. Demonstrators left that location and went to two locations, U.S. 101 at Vineland Avenue and the SR-134, I-5 interchange.

Protesters stayed at the scene at the SR-134, I-5 interchange even after the California Highway Patrol ordered them to disperse.

The incident caused massive traffic delays on Wednesday night.
