Scooter rider struck as semi truck turns left

Man on scooter struck by semi truck making a left turn in Queens in New York City early on Thursday morning. 

The accident happened on December 28th at about 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and Parsons Boulevard in Queens, New York City, New York. 

According to New York Daily News, the pedestrian was riding on a scooter when they were struck by a red semi truck making a left turn from Northern Boulevard onto Parsons Boulevard. The force of the impact threw the man from his scooter. The man was pronounced dead on scene. 

The truck driver did not stop following the incident, reported Patch News.

The victim’s identity has not been released, and police are searching for the truck driver. The semi truck is described as a red tractor trailer with Maine license plates. No further information has been released.
