Semi drives through and demolishes house following collision with SUV

Published:

A two vehicle collision involving a semi truck led to massive damage to a home and sent two people to the hospital on Thursday night in Ohio.

The crash occurred around 6:30 p.m. on March 30 in Bethel Township, Ohio.

Officials say that an SUV and a semi truck hauling a load of steel collided at the intersection of State Route 571 and State Route 201.

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office told WHIO that the truck driver lost control while attempting to avoid the SUV, which reportedly crept out past a stop sign into the intersection.

Following the crash, the SUV remained in the intersection while the truck travelled off the roadway and struck a two story house.

The semi truck driver and a woman who was inside the house were hospitalized with minor injuries.

The Bethel Township Fire Department said that the house is a total loss and will collapse when the truck is removed.

It isn’t clear whether any charges could be filed.

The crash remains under investigation by the Miami County Sheriff’s Office.
