The South Dakota Highway Patrol (SDHP) is warning drivers to use caution as a snow storm is causing travel to become hazardous on Tuesday, with “many cars and semis stuck on I-29.”
According to SDHP, a semi truck slid off of I-29 at the the New Effington exit “due to the inability to see the road.”
“Notice that the snow is up to the steps on the semi,” SDHP said.
SDHP has reported there are many trucks and cars stuck on I-29 between Summit and the North Dakota border as of early Tuesday afternoon and asked drivers to slow down, buckle up, and pay attention if they must travel.
No travel advisories are currently in place on many South Dakota roadways. Make sure to check SD511 for the most up to date travel information from the South Dakota Department of Transportation.
